When the exciting game of baseball is played a variety of rules need to be followed. Home run is one of the interesting rules which surrounds the game of baseball. During the course of the baseball game, the bowler throws the ball to the batter who is supposed to hit it with the bat. When the batter connects in such a way that the ball goes right out of the park, it is considered a home run. But a home run is only considered if the ball crosses the playing area in full and does not touch the ground in any way.
But with the advent of the modern baseball game, a variety of new regulations related to home run has developed. One of the most common examples of it is inside the park home run. This rule implies if the batter hits the ball and is able to complete all the bases with his other runners. The fielders can certainly pick up the ball and throw back but the bases need to be covered before the ball arrives. A home run is also applicable in baseball as per specific situations. The grand slam home run is one such instance of it. When all the bases are loaded with runners and the player slams the ball out of the park it is known as a grand slam hit.
